I'm replacing parts of videos in premiere timeline with version stabilized in AE, but in AE I can't see a fluid preview, is there a way to pre-render the stabilized video before going back to Premiere ?
Ram preview works only for the last few seconds, I need a complete real preview of the stabilized shot to shorten the workflow...
If RAM preview isn't giving you enough duration, you can render and export a test movie and watch that.
You can get a longer RAM preview by reducing resolution, by skipping frames, et cetera. See this:
yes I'm always ram rendering at 1/4 but it's too short anyway...
isn't there a function like "Render effects in work area" in Premiere ? I now see Sequence>Pre-Render ... maybe that ? (will test it in few minutes anyway, I'm waiting the serial from my order and I can't import avchd at the moment with the trial)
Pre-rendering is for precompositions.
It's important to not try to force After Effects to be an NLE (a video editor). Workflows are different within a compositing tool.
> I can't import avchd at the moment with the trial
There are no codec limitations with the trial version, so whatever problems you're having with AVCHD import have nothing to do with the fact that you're using a trial version.
Are you sure ?
Important: The trial version of After Effects CS5 doesn't include some features that depend on third-party software components that are only included in the full version of After Effects. The import and export of some formats are not supported in the trial version: AVC-Intra, AVCHD, HDV, MPEG-2, MPEG-2 DVD, MPEG-2 Blu-ray, and XDCAM. The trial version for Adobe After Effects CS5.5 includes all codecs that are in the full version.
If you are using the trial versions of CS5.5 for both products, this should be no problem at all. If it doesn't, then you haven't told us something we possibly should know, liek older versions of Adobe products on the system. in that particular case those older products need to be deactivated, as the CoDecs are tied to them and won't be released otehrwise....
