Hi,

I am unable to install Adobe Air on my Macbook Pro (OS 10.6.8).

I had a previous version (2.7...) and uninstalled it.

I get the error "An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR.  Installation may not be allowed by your administrator.  Please contact your administrator." and I have followed the instrictions to deal with this here  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/902/cpsid_90205.html but without success.

Can anybody help?

Many thanks,

Glyn

On mac, can you try manually removing Library/Frameworks/Adobe AIR.framework folder and then retry your installation of latest AIR runtime?

Also, does the problem go away if you have Firefox running?  Some users are reporting that this is a workaround for them.   Thanks!

I had the same error message before and fixed with an AIR Zapper. Please check this post:

http://forums.adobe.com/message/3737276#3737276

and find the reply from "chris.campbell". download the AIR Zapper.ZIP.

I don't understand why AIR's installation program did not include this zapper subroutine. There are so many people frustrated by this installation failures. Just look at this forum, each one person posted the problem should at least represent 50 more others who didn't.

Hi,

Many thanks for your reply.  However, it seems to refer to Windows.... Does it apply to Mac OS too?

Thanks,

Glyn
