How to smooth edges on a shape without making it blurry?

Hey everybody!  How can I smooth the edges on a shape (made with the pen tool, so it's curvy) because right now they're all jagged.  Also, I don't want to make it blurry.  Attached is the pic:

Did you use anti-alias when you filled the paths?

If you also have Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw (no you're on a Mac--coreldraw won't be on that)... then you can place.. the psd document into AI and use Live Trace to get Vector art.  Otherwise I would create paths for each shape and increase the resolution of your canvas then make your paths into selections and fill them with the paintbucket tool in the higher-res canvas.  Also when you fill the selection make sure you have anti-aliasing on and maybe a slight feathering but not too much otherwise it will get blurry also.
