I just received my new Production Premium CS5.5 Upgrade package, Since things were getting ratty with the old Win 7 64 I tried to do a fresh install on my Dell Win 7 64-bit T7500 workstation. However, I ran into errors similar to those pointed out by Todd here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/902/cpsid_90243.html However, I had a few more in the error summary:

Is this more of the Installer false errors bug?
Bill
I had a number of these same installation"errors", and I have seen a variety of other ones posted.
Seems like the bottom line is that if all of the apps open up properly and appear to operate normally, these errors are probably trivial in nature & require no further attention.
Fingers crossed ![]()
For what it's worth, I just went through and extended session with Adobe support re: CS5.5 throwing an error up front, i.e., aborting the installation before it got under way. It turned out my problem was with the Adobe Flash Player. Apparently, if you've updated your flash player to a later version than is included in the CS5.5 installer, it will throw an error. In my case, I had just updated my Flash Player to 10.3 a day or 2 before I tried to install PP CS5.5. The cure was uninstalling Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X and Plugin and running the installation again, which encountered no errors/problems. I went ahead and updated to Flash Player 10.3 afterwards with no problems (so far).
If my memory serves me correctly, a couple of weeks when I installed Design Premium CS5.5, I got an error message after the installation that mentioned the Flash Player, but I couldn't detect any problems with with any of the programs I subsequently used. I think at that time I was running and updated version of Flash Player 10, but am pretty sure I had not installed 10.3 at that time. I'm guessing that whether it throws a pre or post installation error may depend on which package your installing and/or which Flash Player 10+ version your using.

Todd...
Tom Mullica here again. I’ve been practicing with my CAPTURE feature in Premier Pro CS5.5. I plug my Sony camera to the tower and open PP. All my setting are correct...the video is recorded directly from my camera as needed. Here’s what I’d like to see. Before, with PPCS4 you could see what was being recorded in the CAPTURE WINDOW SCREEN. Now when I hit play only, the video is seen in the CAPTURE WINDOW but as soon as I hit RECORD, a message comes up ‘PLAYING ON VIDEO HARDWARE’. This is OK but I’d like to see the playback on the computer monitor rather than the camera itself. Is there a way to change this?
