While I hope this work addresses some of the problems I've been having lately, I do wish Adobe would send e-mails to all e-mail addresses associated with Acrobat.com prior to undertaking stuff like this. It's always better when users aren't surprised by this kind of thing.

A toast message appears on digitalpublishing.acrobat.com at least 48 hours before any schedule downtime. We are looking at an opt-in email notification system.

besides the toast message there are alredy some other possibilities for

instant updates right now:

1) keep an eye on health.acrobat.com to see the service status

2) subscribe to the health.acrobat.com-RSS-Feed in your feedreader (like

google reader) to get all announcements and service changes

or

3) use an RSS-to-Email-Service like feedmyinbox.com to get RSS-updates to

your eMail inbox (free acount for once-per-day-mailings)
