I am currently experiencing an issue in Captivate 5 where two web browsers are opening in a publish version of Captivate 5. I have used the click box and set the setting to top. Has anyone else came across this issues and if so, do you have any suggestions how to resolve this issue?
Hi there
Does the same thing happen if you simply open the link in a browser? Does it happen if you link to perhaps Google.com?
My thought is that perhaps whatever you are linking to is also spawning a new window.
Can you post a screen capture of your Timeline?

Do you think you may have one clickbox on top of another? I'd take a look at:
1. Your slide entry and exit actions. Are they set to "Open URL or File"?
2. Check all of your slide objects on that slide and make sure they're supposed to be there and that their settings are correct.
Without seeing the file, there's not a whole lot that I can do from my end. Would it be possible to strip everything out of the .cptx project except the clickbox?... then delete the unused items from the library? I promise not to tell the Australian Government... LOL! Or perhaps you can create a new .cptx project and try to reproduce the issue and send me that file?

Hey there, I'm replying on behalf of leese_work (as i work with her also).
This seems to be a rather complex issue.
We are hosting the training module on a secure site, and it's only when we link to non-secure sites that we have this issue. It's not a particular project but rather every project that has a link to an external URL.
Just as a test i readed a new project with 8 links on it. 4 to a secure site and 4 to a non-secure site (Google). I set each link to the 4 different methods (Current, New, Parent, Top) so i had each method for a secure site and the same for a non-secure site.
Using 'New' works the best, as we don't want them to navigate away from our module, but when opening a non-secure site, as Lisa said, it opens another window on top of Google and it's just blank. There is only the 1 click box, there are no slide entries (other than Continue). It's just non-secure sites opening up twice when set to new.
Though after further investigation, i don't believe that it's a Captivate issue, but rather an issue with how open our modules.
We link to then using this:
javascript:SlkOpenFramesetWindow('/sites/***********/MyTraining/_layou ts/**************Site/launch.aspx?MyTrainingId=*********');
Which causes the module to open in a new Frame (like Internet Explorer but without the navigation buttons or the address bar etc) just the module itself. Opening the links in the module when it's in this frame causes it to open twice.
If I grab the link for the module and just paste it in a normal IE window, then the links open fine. So it doesn't appear to be a Captivate issue at all, but rather, something to do with how we open the module in the first place. Though this can't be changed, so we will still have the same issue unfortunately.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Are you putting the below JS code in a "Open URL or File" action or in an "Execute JavaScript" action?
javascript:SlkOpenFramesetWindow('/sites/***********/MyTraining/_layou ts/**************Site/launch.aspx?MyTrainingId=*********');
You may want to post this in the SharePoint Learning Kit forums since this is a SLK issue. The C# code behind has this function that calls this code listed here:
You may need to edit the C# source of SLK to get this to work correctly.
Good Luck!

We are seeing the same thing only when publishing as a SCORM 1.2 course and loading to our LMS. We found a work around by going to IE8's Internet Options -> Security Tab, then checking "Enable Protected Mode". After that has been selected for both the Internet and Local intranet zones, we reload the browser and everything works fine with only one window launching from a URL (button or click box). We requested a global change for all of our employees, but it was turned down, so now we're trying to figure out how to solve it through Captivate 5 and/or 5.5.
Hi, Im also experiencing this problem.
Im using Captivate 5.5. Any click boxes that are linked to external websites, internal intranet sites and internal documents on shared drives seem to be opening twice. Ive not duplicated any click boxes. and all of the commands are to open in New window
Any suggestions to resolve this would be appreciated
