capture with mini USB

Oct 21, 2011 11:01 AM

I am capturing, hopefully, a small project from a JVC Everio camera which only has a mini USB output connection which my version of CS4 doesn't seem to recognize. Is there something that I can do about this?

Thanks

Mick

Just copy the contents of the SD card (or built in storage) over to the hard drive in your computer.  Then use Premiere Pro's Media Browser to navigate to and import the clips.

That's a problem.  Make sure the camera is in the right mode for transfer.

    1. Connect USB cable to computor (already on)
    2. Open LCD viewer
    3. Turn on camera
    4. LCD should ask to "backup on computer" press the small joystick next to the LCD screen.
    5. After a few seconds the camera should show in my computer and a dialogue box should apear on the computer screen. The files can now be accessed just as another drive.

    Hope this helps.

I have been using the GZ-HD7 for years without any problems other than dealing with the .TOD files.

Converting the .TOD files to mpg using the JVC included PowerDirector Express never was a good match, causing lot's of problems in PP.  Now I use the .TOD files directly from the camera by changing the file extension to .M2Ts which work much better in PP.

Problem is they're not .TOD files, they are MOD and MOI and they don't take

kindly to extension changes for some reason

MOD files can be a bit of a pita.

    Try this converter:
