PS elements installation not possible less I "close ShellExtLoader application"

Hello,

I downloaded PS elements v10 for MacOs.

I have a dual core duo macbook, snow leopard (last update)

When starting the install process, i'm prompted to "close ShellExtLoader application".

According to activity monitor I don't have any such application running.

I could not find any solution ion the web.

I'm happy I DLed it as a free evaluation version.... but I certainly will need to fix this before I buy it.

Could anyone help ?

Thanks

Trash the download and any bits it may have already installed, then download again. If you use any kind of AV software, disable it for the install.

EDIT but before doing that, just restart your computer and see if that helps.

It's from SugarSync.  I had this issue; quit one thing and then tried to continue. Didn't work until I quit SugarSync.  I verified this with another search and forum.  I'm installing as I type this.

    Good Luck.

Only the OP can change the answer from Helpful to Correct.

Since this issue seems more universal, moving this topic to the Installation forum.

Thanks for the input. I turned off sugarsync and Elements loaded perfectly (or so I think it did). I wold think that this would be addressed by Adobe as an issue ver a year old?

Thanks. I had the same problem when migrating my PSE 9 system onto new iMac and this cleared the problem.

Totally correct! To install PS6 and possibly others in the Creative Cloud CS6 you have to exit Sugar Sync to avoid seeing message to close - ShellExtLoader. Thanks Forum for the help!
