Recent Files List in Dreamweaver CS5.5

Recently opened files are not being stored in the recent file list (File --> Open Recent) on my installation of Dreamweaver. Is there a setting I can enable to turn this on?

Thank you.

Are you closing DW with the files opened? If so, try closing the files first, then shutting down DW.

I agree. Recently Opened (but unsaved) files will not show in ANY recent files list (Adobe or Office) that I've ever seen.

Correct, they don't get added until you close the file. Why would you want them to be in the list while they are still open?

Not just the files still open, but if they are opened, edited and closed without saving, (I've done it hundreds of times to get the right "snippet" of code).. they will not be in the recent files list.

Are the files showing up in the "welcome" screen?

Are you using Mac or Windows?

The recent file list is stored in the Registry on Windows. Are you having other Registry problems?

Please provide a simple recipe for what you are doing.

How do you open the file? There are many ways to open files in DW.

What kind of is it? html? js? css? php?

Are you in code view? design view? live view?

What do you do while you're there?

How do you close the fille?

How many other files do you have open?

    HTH,

    Randy

Sorry, but I don’t know what could be causing this. There’s no way to turn off that feature, accidentally or otherwise. I have not heard anyone else report this problem.

    Regards,

    Randy
