We are trying to publish Web Help Pro (RH8 and RH Server 8 (Apache Tomcat version 6)). What we have just figured out through a lot of troubleshooting, is that the WebHelp Pro TOC doesn't display all the topics and in some cases reorders the TOC based on the defined TOC. There is no issue until we reach the 194th Item (doesn't matter if it's topic, PDF, PowerPoint, or Book with no link). The magic number is 194. When the 194th item is entered in the TOC then books and topics disappear. In some cases, an entire book of topics is moved under another book.
Does anyone have any clue as to what the issue is? I've never had a limit to the number of items displaying in the TOC and this is a realtively small project of 295 topics (not including baggage files).
Regards,
CJ
Hi. I don't have an answer, but I have seen similar behavior, though I hadn't noticed the magic 194th item ![]()
I know this is a small site, but is this part of a merged project system?
Also, are you using the default "Server-side" search indexing or "Client-side" indexing?
Finally, it would be helpful if you zipped up your Tomcat server log files for the past day or two that this problem showed up. You will find them here on the server machine:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\logs
Send the zip to my email shown in my Forum Profile.
I will reach out to someone at Adobe and see if they can help with this.

And I don't know how to help either, but I have to admit I was a bit stymied by your mention of the following:

Shouldn't a TOC be presented as it has been defined? How else would you expect it to be presented?

Hi CJ,
There is a KB article which discusses the missing TOC issue for RoboHelp Server 8 and 9 and also gives the solutions for that issue. Here is a link to the article :

Hi,
We have this problem also. I tried downloading the fix from the knowledgebase and am getting the following error:

Hi Dee. I have informed the relevant people at Adobe about this link. I'll post back once the link in working again.

Adobe are fixing the link but in the meantime you can still download the file. Just right click on it and click Save Link as in Firefox or Save Target as in Internet Explorer.

Dee -- The KB article did not fix our problem either, but last week I have figured out the issue in WebHelp Pro TOC. I rebuilt the TOC from scratch and published it little by little until it broke. It seems like the TOC can only go 3 levels deep. Everytime we put in book 4 it messes up the TOC, se we redesigned it so that the books only went 3 levels deep instead of 4 (which was rare anyway).
For example (note the numbers are only to indicate the TOC level)
1. Introduction
2. Software Basics
Online Help Basic
1. Mortgage Process
2. Product Types
3. FHA
3. VA
4 Levels too much for TOC:
1. Introduction
2. Software Basics
2. Online Help Basic
1. Mortgage Process
2. Product Types
3. FHA
4. FHA Connection
4. FHA MIP Calculations
3. VA
I did received a call back from Adobe support 2 days ago and updated them on what we found and I was told they would test this issue and get back to me.
Let me know if this resolves your issue too.
