Hi. We'll be purchasing new computers and I wanted to run this by you all:
We typically work on files up to about 300MB, with up to 20 different layers, a few alpha channels, 10 paths, etc.. Occasionally, using Perfect Resize to scale up to the max of 30,000 pixels.
Since we don't know when/if a new Mac Pro is coming, how do the following specs look for our above needs to you?
Thanks!
An awesome resource, Jeffrey! Thanks to you and those who helped!
I'm looking at the soon-to-be released Lacie SSD 260GB Thunderbolt drive as a scratch disk, too. For my above criteria, I assume that would probably be a good enough size for a scratch disk? Thanks, again!
It's certainly more than just powerful enough and I doubt you'll have any complaints performance-wise. However, it's still an iMac and I'd hesitate to classify the shiny screen of iMacs as good enough for critical color work.
Just my ¢ 2.
