Hi,
When I try to update an article, I'm getting the same message over and over: The upload has failed. [svr.Unknown]
I've tried everything, I've uninstalled everything and updated everything and so on, but nothing works...
I'm from Belgium, maybe the servers in Europe are having some problems?
Thanks...
Nick

Ok, we can see this failing in the logs but it's not happening across a specific geography and we can't get it to happen with in house content. We're looking for someone that is willing to hop on a connect session with our engineers to help diagnose the problem. If you can get this to repeatedly happen with a piece of content, please private message me on the forum and we will schedule some time for you to talk with our engineers to help diagnose the problem.
Just for our knowledge, Is this consistent across a single version of InDesign (CS 5.5 or CS5)? Those of you seeing this error please repond with the version of InDesign you are using.
Thanks
Hi John
as per PM, I can replicate the error quite easily, remove the 34mb audio file and the folio updates, put it back in and it fails.
I'm on Mac CS5 just updated the folio builder today and viewer builder (but that has nothing to do with this I'm sure)
I'll try with an image, just to make the file a bit bigger...
I followed the tip here:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4023852#4023852
I followed the description several times on my workstation - no success.
At home I did the same but without (1) removing the "Digital Publishing" in Adobe Extension Manager.
And now everything seems ok on my home macbook (CS5).
Same here, problems adding a second (vertical) page to an article that already has a horizontal page. Worked fine a week ago, now a resource/file problem dialog. Can not update some(!) articles as well, same resource/file not found problem.
Os X 10.7.1, InDesign CS5.5, Dutch, latest folio producer tools (3 oct) and latest Folio Buildet panel (10 oct). Netherlands.
Problems for me began after the update of the Folio Builder panel...
Can people hitting this error send me the paths to the files on your machine? We beleive we've isolated this down to certain unicode characters in the path that are not getting encoded correctly, thus impacting the system when it tries to insert the path inside the folio. We suspect that most of these characters are in paths in non english machines thus why it appeared to be a geographic specific problem initially.
This has been traced to an issue with the InDesign file name containing extended characters. The team is investigating the cause and working on a solution but for now the workaround is to recommend that customers use ASCII characters for naming files.
Please let me know if you are experiencing both the scv.unknown and/or could not located In Design source file on InDesign files that do not have extended characters.
Thanks for the info. It appears we are chasing 2 problems. We hope to have a folio builder panel fix out by EOD today for the high ascii one and will distribute privately to people that are broken. I'll post the location of the new panel installer to this thread. If you could test it and let me know if you are still encountering issues updating articles I'd appreciate it. If you still have problems after the panel update and are willing to work with us to help diagnose the problem, respond here and I'll PM you for contact info and a best time.
Hi folks,
same problem here. Mac. CS5. Germany. I did the latest update. folio builder did not work after that. only showed up as %Menu_Name in the panel.
i did the workaround kindly provided by Henrik here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4029089#4029089
but only got it working after leaving out step 5.
The Folio builder panel is there yet. but updating a folio with a new article gives the error svr.Unknown
PS: Oh and while you are working on the panel anyway. maybe you can try to integrate a way to update several articles in a folio at once.
and maybe a way to open the indesign file by clicking on an article in the folio.
Hi John, i'm from Brasil - São Paulo. Andy Zivic was here last week, he'll remember the Affero. we have signed the Digital Publishing Suite Enterprise Edition
i have the same problem here. i use Mac with Lion and CS5.5
I did the latest updates:
- Folio Builder panel for Macintosh - Version 1.1.7.1 date: 11/14/2011
- Folio Producer tools for Macintosh - Version 1.7.0 date: 11/15/2011
and the same message appears when I upload the folio:
The upload has failed.
[svr.Unknown]
