Is it possible to test the website via a screenshot image rather then testing the actual live site? Afterall, the idea of this is to test for compatability, ideally before it's too late.
If I understand correctly, what you'd like to do is be able to load an image from your local machine that is a design wireframe/layout of the page that you're testing and include it with the other screenshots from your site so that you can do side-by-side or onion skin comparisons between the design and the actual screenshots of the page. Is that correct? If not, can you explain further?
What I've described above is an idea we've kicked around amongst the team but have never heard enough interest about to actually implement. I can pass your comment along to our product manager as a vote for implementing it.
Yes, that is correct. Either through a screenshot image or I think it would be even more convienient if this could be acheived through the local link, that is generated as you preview the website in a search engine, before the site is live. Or maybe perhaps this application could be intergrated with dreamweaver? Either way, It would just be more convienient to test the site before it's been uploaded. Thank you I would like you to pass this on to your production manager.
