Simple Question Adobe CS5 different sizes

Without getting into too much detail, I am just going to post up this image and my main goal is to get the (right) sequence preview the same size and resolution as the (left) monitor.  Can anyone help?

If additional info is needed just ask me, I will me more than happy to provide details. But I am sure it is just as simple as fixing the size somehow.

    Your Premiere Project Sequence does not match your source material.  ie they have different dimensions.

     

    Looks like you have used a SD preset and you need an HD one. (16:9)

     

    Drag a clip onto the NEW ITEM Icon at the bottom of the Project Window to create a proper sized sequence.

    Yes that is correct, I filmed on an HD SONY HXR-NX5U  and it used a SD card for memory.  I transfered the files to a folder and created my project.  So there is a bit extra info for you. But I am having trouble understanting exactly what you mean by "Drag a clip onto the NEW ITEM Icon at the bottom of the Project Window to create a proper sized sequence."  Sorry I am a bit slow. Can you elaborate that one for me a bit further?

    I know it is just really simple. Something soo small that it is just a click away. But I just need direction. So far you have helped, but I am not completely clear yet

    You already have the files in your Project Window.

     

    Drag one of them down onto the little ICON at the bottom of the Window that looks like a Corner Turned Page ( Next to the Trash Bin - dont mistake them)

     

    That creates a matched sequence.

     

    Once you do that ...rename the Sequence to somethink like "MY EDIT Sequence". You do this in the project Window by clicking on thename of the sequence...which initially will be the name of the file you used to create it.

     

    All simpler than it sounds but it is a fundamental worth knowing.

     

    Next time create the sequence using the correct dimension and preset.

    Thank you my friend. I will try to work with that.

    But as far as the creating a sequence using the correct dimension and preset, like I said, I have a AVCHD HXR-NX5U.

    Does this mean I should set my settings to this format? I also am editting footage from a gopro and integrating the two.

    Wouldn't  it make sense to set it to AVCHD since it is on my camera description? or should i go with the DV - NTSC > Widescreen 48kHz??

    Sorry for the questions, but you probably see this all the time.

    Using footage from the two cameras is another issue.

     

    Whatever...you do not want an SD 4:3 (DV) sequence for the HD footage.  Is the GOPRo  HD?

     

    "Walk before you can run grasshopper".  Learn to make a matching sequence before anything else.

     

    Use a 1080 AVCHD Preset.

    Yes the Go pro is shooting in 1080p and I believe the HD is the same. And by preset which one of these would you recommend.......

    This is me trying to learn how to walk.. hahaha

    Learning curves...

     

    If you use the tip I gave you earlier re the NEW ITEM icon....you will see what sequence it produces.

     

    Take a note of the dimensions and properties ..then you will know next time so that you can manually set up a sequence from a preset.

     

    Otherwise...you get out the camera manual and see what AVCHD flavour you actually shot.

     

    or...I can just confidently tell you to use the  AVCHD 1080p30 preset.  (Ask me how I know that - clue: info is in your 1st frame grab))
