Adobe reader affects my screen!

After recently installing adobe reader, the monitor on my computer switches off after approximately 1.5 seconds of idle time. Can anybody help? Is it the reader thats affected my computer or is it likely to be something else?

 

I run a lenovo T500 with 4 gb ram.

 

Hope you guys can help!

    From where did you download Reader? I ask because your problem looks like a virus to me...

    Hi Jock,

     

    As Claudio Gonzalez says, it is probably a virus. If you have downloaded the reader from a site other than adobe then it is almost certain that the software has a virus.

    My advice to you is to completely delete it from your machine and re-install it from the adobe website.

    but there is no chance that it is a virus. I got it from adobe

    Well then it means your computer has a virus. Where did you get your computer from?!! Hey, where?

    I actually happen to have got it from a very reliable company in a backstreet in Glasgow. 'Sams Computers' i think

    Sounds like a very reliable place to get a computer from.

    It is, hence confusion as to why it would pike up a virus.  Does anybody have any idea_
