Snap to guides doesn't seem to work properly in CS5

Dec 6, 2011 8:17 AM

Hey guys,

I wanted to quickly align a couple of short phrases to a horizontal guide, but when i drag each text layer, some align, others don't. Needless to say, Snap is enabled for guides.

Is this a known bug in CS5, or have i overlooked something important?

Best regards,

mr.waltz

Do they actually snap to the guides or certain text layers just align differently?

Perhaps a screenshot would would elaborate the problem better.

Any chance that when you entered the lines you pressed Enter afterward, essentially making the text multiple-lines?

    Yes, sorry, I meant Return.

I had another idea...  When you do select one of the layers that won't align, what does the CHARACTER panel show for the Baseline Shift?

Sometimes it gets confusing where the snapping is if you have other Snap To items checked.

Try unchecking Layers and Document Bounds under View-Snap To.

If that still doesn't help, is cs5 updated to 12.04 or are you using 12.1?

    And reset the photoshop preferences:
