Vector rectangle with rounded corners without stroke

Fireworks seems realy unintuative to me. Am I wrong or but if I want to round the corners of a recangle I have to add a strok to it?

 

What if I want a recctangle with rounded corners without a stroke? I guess I could change the stroke to the same colour... but what if my rectanlge is a gradient?

 

Any insight?

    Use the rounded rectangle tool. It's not necessary to use a stroke. Alternatively, use a regular rectangle (vector) and adjust the corners in the Properties panel. You'll see a slider there named "roundness"

    Thanks for your response Linda,

     

    It appears that Fireworks was doing something funny where any changes I was making to the roundness were not being reflected on the rectangle until I applied a stroke. It appears to be functioning correctly now.
