What are the options if you want to use pixelbender filters in your own host application? I'm in particular interested in being able to call evaluatePixel and not simply process whole images. I could add photoshop filter plugin support, but AFAIK that will only allow whole image processing (not single pixel/sample callbacks)
Alright, so the After Effects and Photoshop Pixel Bender plugins actually compiles the filters? (I had hoped some sort of Pixel Bender runtime was called, which one could use).
I think going through Flash somehow is the only way then (via ExternalInterface). I read somewhere in an old thread that Pixel Bender execution in Flash will not use GPU, how is status on that now?
You would need to do the image processing computations in the Flash version of Pixel Bender so this question really comes down to what Photoshop plugin mechanisms will allow you access to Flash. I'm not an expert on that side of things, you might try asking in the PS forums.
