How to enable DnD between app windows?

I need to integrate a couple web applications, one is in Flex another HTML/JavaScript (GWT).  What I want to do is enable drag 'n drop between the Flex and the other app (just in that direction), I don't need to share any content as I can get that from the server, ideally just passing a string ID would be enough.  How can this be done? (I'm Flex Newbie)  I could host the two apps in the same page if that is necessary or would help.  Ideas...can I defer the DnD in Flex to JavaScript which could be picked up by the other app?  Can I add a flex drop widget to the HTML/JavaScipt app?    Any direction is greatly appreciated.
