Error 2753: The file "lightroom.exe" is not marked for installation

Hi,

 

I have been trying to update LR3 from version 3.5 to 3.6. Every time I do I get the above message,"Error 2753: The file "lightroom.exe" is not marked for installation." I am using PC with Windows 7 installed.

 

I have tried to run from the .exe file; I have extracted the .exe file to the desktop; and I have tried to run as Administrator. I have even turned off the antivirus. No luck.

 

Any suggestions?

    Your download may be corrupt. Did you try to download again?

    A few minutes ago, I downloaded the update again, and I received the same error.

    This sounds similar to the error message I am sometimes getting when trying to install downloaded software.

    In my case the reason has always been that the download saved only an empty folder with a size of a few KB instead of the whole thing. Happens quite often, and I don't know why.

    If I try to install this I get the error message that "this is not a Win32 application".

     

    I now know that I have to make sure that the download saved on my computer has to be of the same file size as is stated on the website I am downloading from.

    I don't know if this applies to your case but thought of sharing this.
