I'm trying to create a single transparent PNG (for use on the web and in an iPhone app) which has been created as two photoshop layers; one that is normal and one that has a "multiply" blend mode. I've tried merging them in various different ways but every time I end up with the shadow effect (the multiply layer) effectively being turned normal and being a dull, non-transparent grey. You can download the PSD from http://files.bendodson.com/profile.psd
The file was created (I believe) in InDesign and then exported to PSD so I could cut it up for use in the app. Whilst the obvious solution would be to get the designer to redo it in a different way, they are on holiday for the next 2 weeks and I really need to get this sorted before then.
Effectively, I need a PNG of the photo and drop shadow together complete with transparency so that it can sit on top of any background (outside of Photoshop) but retain the same shadow effect.
ps. I'm using Photoshop CS4 on a mac.
