Acrobat 9.0 Pro Quitting Out

Aug 19, 2010 8:10 AM

Hi - having installed CS5, if Acrobat is booted (either 'manually' or by double-clicking a PDF), the app boots, and the PDF is displayed for about 5 seconds. I then get a message that Acrobat was installed as part of a suite (presumably CS5), and I need to boot another app within that suite to enable it to work. Doesn't matter which (none, all, combination) of the other CS5 apps I boot, I still get the same message. The programme then shuts any open PDFs and quits.

I un/reinstalled it, but no joy - any ideas?

Thanks

Have you activated another application in the suite?

I'm having the exact same issue - CS5, Acrobat 9, Mac OSX 10.6.4, "You must launch at least one other suite component...", but still shuts down.

I am having the same problem with Acrobat 8 and CS3 ever since I downloaded an auto update this morning (to 8.2.4).  I really need this solved, as I have a PDF I need to send to a client but need to delete some pages first!

Everything was working fine until I downloaded the update this morning.

Mac OS 10.6.4, btw.  That hasn't changed recently.

Same here, on 10.6.8. Same exact issue. CS5, all other Suite apps are running great. Acrobat launches and actually runs (can view the opened PDF) for about 5 seconds, then get that "open another suite application" error message.

Did anyone figure out what was going on? TY.
