uninstaller link not working

I am trying to unstall an old version of shockwave--Macromedia Shockwave Player 8.x

I have gone on the Adobe site to their page for "stand-alone installers for shockwave player, previous versions only"

They have a download button for the uninstaller, but it goes to an "Internet Explorer cannot display this web page" error.

Is this download truly incompatible with IE or is the link broken?

I would like to uninstall so i can do a clean upgrade to the current shockwave.

I don't know from where you tried to download the uninstaller; it downloads successfully from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#sp

Thank you for your response, however the regular shockwave uninstaller at your link does not remove the old Macromedia version that I am trying to get rid of. It just removes my updated shockwaver player. The reinstallation process does not remove the old one either.

I see; I have reported the broken link to Adobe.

Can you uninstall the old version from Control Panel?
