Could not load the Bigger Tiles Modules

Jan 14, 2012 5:12 PM

I use Photoshop CS5 on iMac 3.06GHz IC2D with Lion 10.7.2. When I start Photoshop a Popup says : Could not load the Bigger Tiles Modules because it does not work with this version of Photoshop. Pity, but how to disable this Popup at every start ?

Delete the plugin.  You copied a plugin from an older version of Photoshop, and it does not work with Photoshop CS5, nor is it needed.

If you're getting a message about that plugin not loading.. then yes, that plugin exists and you have Photoshop trying to load it.

The key, to which Chris alluded, is that you copied plug-ins from an earlier version of Photoshop - or you set the Extra plug-ins folder location preference to point to such plug-ins, probably to try to shortcut the process of getting the same set of 3rd party plug-ins installed that you had installed before.

You can't do it that way, because you also likely carried along the plug-ins that were provided by Adobe with Photoshop.

You have to undo that - ALL of that - and return your plug-ins back to just the set provided with the current version of Photoshop.  Then you have to install just your 3rd party plug-ins.

I'm curious - what gave you the idea that you could just try to port your plug-ins from the older Photoshop wholesale like that?

    -Noel

At some point, you did copy plugins from an older version, or mistakenly pointed the optional plugins folder preference at an older version -- otherwise you wouldn't have that obsolete plugin or the error about it not loading.
