I am getting the dreaded "Adobe Story quit unexpectedly" everytime I try to open it. I even restarted. In addition to that, when I try to go to story.adobe.com I get a problem loading page. Not the case on any other sites I try to visit. Is there some sort of issue at the moment?
Both the software and the website now load with no issues although I made no changes to the settings anywhere. Out of sheer curiosity, is there a reason why both would temporarliy not work on my system?
Hi, I'm having the same problem. Cannot open Adobe Story Desktop app. Keeps saying it will not open. When I go to the online version, I only have some of my work available. I really need the desktop app to work so I can get to my script! Help!
Mac OS 10.7.2 and I believe my version of Air is 4.5 but I'm not totally sure how to tell. When I click on the desktop installer it asks if I'd like to download it and when confirmed it does nothing. Current version still crashing.
Can you send me a snapshot of current version crash ?
Also for now as a workaround please try following:
1) Uninstall existing story application
2) Save latest installer directly from this link – https://story.adobe.com/AIR/AdobeStory.air to your disk
3) Now install the application from the installer stored on the disk.
4) Now try logging into story application.
Let me know if this also doesn’t work, I will take a deeper look.
Ok. I have a shoot to get to right now but later around 7 I will send you the screen shot. I'll also be very happy if I can send u a step by step of my progress. Really worried about losing my script or doing something wrong. Thank you! Happy sunday

Did you recently upgrade to OSX 10.7.2 ?
We are looking into air app issue with 10.7.2. I will let you know once we have a solution for this.
Let me know if you are stuck due to unavailability of some of your offline work, i can help you extract that info and you can work online until we fix this.
Just send an email to me at 'ratnesh at adobe dot com' with your username.
And here is further information that actually fixed the problem. I found it on another thread dealing with air. If anyone else is having this issue try this:
Attention Mac 10.7.2 users that are crashing with Adobe AIR
We are aware of the crashing that can occur with late model Apple computers running 10.7.2 and are working closely with Apple to address this. In the meantime here are a couple of workarounds you can use:
- Open System Preferences, select Energy Saver and disable Automatic graphics switching (or use a third party GPU switcher, such as gfxCardStatus and enable the Nvidia GPU)
- Before launching your AIR based application, launch either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to have this resolved soon.
