Problem in 'create'

Just starting on Device Central and I am trying to use the 'create' function having selected some Adobe certified devices in the 'test devices' window. (Samsung SC-02C and a few others)
I have signed in using my adobe id.
Problem: the devices are kind of greyed out. The 'New Document' window is saying 'to start, please select device(s) in the Test Devices panel. But double clicking, or right clicking or drag and drop into the main window does not select anything. Any ideas?
