Shrink size of a bmp member

I am capturing large .jpg images with a web cam, but then I also need to save these into a avi file.  I can do this very effectively thanks to the help you gave me with earlier posts.  What I need now is a way of shrinking the size of the image of the cast members so the final movie size is much smaller.  I know how to modify the size of the cast member permanently in Design Time, but is there a way to do so in Lingo during runtime?

    Check the docs for "copyPixels". Take the image of the member, copyPixels this image into a new (smaller) size and re-assign this image to the member.

    that's terrific!  I used copyPixels before but never realized you can change rect size.  Many thanks.
