the errors occur shortly after booting the system. is there a fix for these errors?
z solution is pretty simple. as always when users should repair Adobe Corp errors while Adobe Corp's time of sweat dreams....
1. download & install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update (latest VC++2005) both x86 & x64:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=14 431
this is mainly for availability of ms assembly "Microsoft.VC80.CRT" version="8.0.50608.0" processorArchitecture="x86" (and amd64) publicKeyToken="1fc8b3

Acrobat 9 (and LiveCycle Designer 8.2) is not compliant with Windows 7 x64, so the error is to be expected. LiveCycle Designer ES2 bundled with Acrobat X works fine on Windows x64.
On 64-bit operating systems where two versions of the Microsoft Common Controls interface exist, when a program asks for the "wildcard" version (using an asterisk in the loading manifest), Windows will return with the 64-bit version (you can see this in your error report as the reference starting "amd64"). As a 32-bit application the codebase for Acrobat 9 was not written to expect this return value, so when it subsequently loads the 32-bit version (beginning "x86") and they don't match, it throws an error. This doesn't mean the application itself won't load and run, just that it's been given something it doesn't understand.
It is possible to get rid of the event log errors by recompiling the executable, but that's not something an end user is permitted to do.

You might also try the updates to AA9 to see if you are successful with improving the performance. You are likely running 9.0 and there are several updates. I believe some of them are targeted at x64 performance, but Dave is better at this knowledge than am I.

thank you for the quick replies.
for the versions question, acrobat 9 pro installed at v9.0.0, then immediately updated to v9.2.0, then again updated itself to v9.4.7. the same problem exits for the latest version that the updater installed.
on the compliance comments, thank you for the detailed reason behind the problem. it makes sense to me and appreciate the background.
i did read on this link: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403523.html that Acrobat 9 Pro should work with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
"Adobe has tested Acrobat 9.x (Standard, Pro, and Pro Extended) on Microsoft Windows 64-bit operating systems. Acrobat 9 is a 32-bit application that was tested on Windows Vista x64, Windows XP x64, and Windows 2003 Server x64. Microsoft Windows 7 Starter, Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate or Enterprise 64-bit is supported after the 9.2 update has been applied."
will adobe be fixing these errors?

i am seeing that these SideBySide errors occur without launching AA9. is there a way to avoid "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Designer 8.2\FormDesigner.exe" loading on its own? i do not see it listed in the msconfig.exe startup tab.

Also getting errors. I would either like this fixed or find a way to prevent FormDesigner.exe from loading at startup. Funny, it doesn't show in the services or startup lists when you run system configuration.

The element dependentAssembly appears as a child of element urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1^assembly which is not supported by this version of Windows.

2. download & install z free resources editor application from here http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/
3. open in Resource Hacker file FormDesigner.exe subfolder '24' then '1' and click string 1033. then change z part of this string as explained below. in short it's just swap all "x86" entries to "*" ones (means either x86 or amd64):
a) original string:

that's all. enjoy.
rgds,
P.S. maybe u can skip item#1. up 2 u. sorry i'm not sure because i've started from item#1 due to another errors with ID 33. that was solved by install of z above ms vc++2005 update x86.

thank you for the suggestion. it sounds like a possible solution but would like adobe to confirm.
i am new to adobe forums, does adobe ever respond to users questions? it seems like a bug in the acrobat software.

oops... do u need a drive or taxicab only?
i don't think that it would be very smart of yours to be awaiting 4 any comment from adobe...
