Not sure what I have done here but my question appears to have disappeared. Basically when I copy and paste at current time indicator, the 'relative spacing' in vertical terms is no longer retained. I have never had this problem before, it just started suddenly, so I can only presume an accidental setting change or something I can set back easily. It would be much appreciated if someone could please kindly advise.
Sorry I didn't make myself clear, PECourtejoie has hit the nail on the head. Previously, if I copied a piece of footage from track three, moved the time indicator to another point and pasted, it would automatically appear in track three. For no reason that I can see it has suddenly stopped doing this. Any ideas?
Actually, Ann hit the nail on the head, and so does this from the link in the first item in this thread:
While you copy whatever clips are selected & highlighted at that moment by your curser, you paste starting with the lowest number track that is currently selected. So you might copy from track 3 but paste to track 1 without intending to until you de-select Track 1. I've done that many more times than I care to remember.
