Saving as a PDF doesn't work correctly

I tried saving an Illustrator file as a PDF. When I open the PDF it shows a blank page as if I didn't have anything in the illustrator file. The file size for the PDF corresponds to what it's supposed to be if it showed the image.

I tried saving another Illustrator file as a PDF and that worked fine. Is there a way to fix this so that the PDF shows the image?

Thanks.

    Meagre description.

Which version of Illustrator are you using? In which application do you open the .pdf file?

Can you provide a sample file (both .ai and .pdf)?

    Details are required.

You can use a service like Google Docs or any other serious file sharing service.

You may have a set of crop marks outside the work area, and it's making a pdf of that area instead of the area you want.
