Couldn't find this in a search, excuse if this has been discussed.
I mixed a multi-track sequence arriving from PPro in Audition with a compressor on each vocal channel, and the VU meters were peaking nicely around -6db. When I export back to my PPro sequence, everything is peaking at -12db or so. Am I missing something? Do I just raise the levels once I get back to PPro, or would that give me less-than-optimal audio to boost it there?
Any input would be greatly appreciated for this workflow! (For a brand new Audition user...)
Audition's mixer does a -3 dB compensation when things are panned center to better mimic stereo pan pots on hardware consoles. More info: http://blogs.adobe.com/insidesound/2010/10/following-the-letter-of-the -pan-law.html
To disable this, just change the Panning Mode preference to "Left/Righ Cut (Logarithmic)" shown here:
