I am trying to install a trial version of adobe illustrator.  (I already bought and installed photoshop CS5)  Anyway the Downloader Assistant is telling me it will take  4 hours to install-is that right?  Also, each time I tried to finish the install, with my Adobe ID and the language, the error message comes up telling me to close the following application:  Bridge CS5.    BUT IT'S NOT OPEN.  So I tried three times re-starting my computer and each time the same message comes up telling me to close Bridge.  What's the problem?  I need help!  My project is due by tomorrow night at midnight so could you get back to me ASAP?  Thanks!

Hi,

Which operating system are you using?

If on Windows, follow the following steps to close Bridge:

1. Navigate to the task manager.

2. Click on the "Processes" tab and then click on "Show processes from all users".

3. Look for bridge.exe in the list of processes. Select it and click on end process.

If you are using a Mac,

1. Navigate to the Activity Monitor.

2. Select "All Processes" in the drop down on the top of the dialog.

3. Look for bridge in the list. Select it and click on Quit Process.

Reinstall

The download time is entirely dependent on your Internet connection speed.

Hope this helps

Thanks everyone. Also when I click on Bridge exe to end the process

I get a warning pop up telling me it could cause damage. Should I

just ignore that? And will this cause me to have problems with

photoshop? (I bought and installed photoshop-it's not a trial) I'm

working with windows xp.

Hi,

The warning message is shown by the operating system to ensure that you don't end any critical system processes.

Closing bridge.exe will not cause any issues with Photoshop or any other applications.

Thanks
