How to create release build of custom plugin from Xcode 3.2

Hi all,

 

i am trying to create custom plugin for indesign. i just got an error that  " ****.sdk.InDesignPlugin cannot  load. It requires debug version of indesign ". i had tried to get debug version of indesign but i dont get it. i got some advice to use release buid of plugin.

can any one help me ? any advise please?

    You can use the release builds, select to build the release target of your project and then try to load. Debug builds has benefits for the developer as it has many debugging tools and also helps get warnings and asserts that are helpful to catch the errors. But to download the debug version you need to be a solution partner i suppose.

     

    However you can do debugging in release builds too, but the results of stepping might be somewhat wrong and all.

    For CS5 you need to use the CS5 SDK, CS5 and CS5.5 sdk are not compatible.

    You had mentioned that you are using, CS5.5 sdk with Indesign CS5. However if you are using the correct sdk then take a look at the project settings of sdk samples and match them with your project settings.

     

    Some points to take note are.

    1. Check that you are using the debug version of frameworks and static libs.

    2. The "debug" flag is set for the odfrc command to compile the .fr file

    3. the "debug" is set for the cpp compiler too.

     

    Try to load the sample plugins and then have a look at the settings.
