Anyone have any good tips on this?
50% of time I do this the style menu come up instead.
With mouse, no problem, with Wacom pen, this happens.
I don't see a right click option to change a layer name, maybe I don't see it? That would help a lot. thanks!
Take extra care to double-click directly on top of the layer name itself, not in an empty space.
To change the layer name, your double-click must land completely inside the layer name target area in the panel list. If the pointer is slightly outside the layer name (even slightly above or below the name) you'll be clicking out in the larger list area, where double-clicking opens the Layer Style dialog box. My guess is that when double-clicking with the pen, the stylus is slipping slightly outside the layer name and so you open Layer Style instead.
You might also want to experiment with the Tip Double Click Distance in the Wacom tablet preferences.
You are not the only one: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/photoshop_hit_ar ea_for_double_click_to_change_layer_name_is_too_small_cs3 see the solution there, and also maybe vote for this possible solution: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/allow_renaming_o f_layers_in_layer_styles_dialog
Thanks PE, can't even follow that discussion. I only have issues with Wacom tablet. Mouse is ok with the double click. I'm glad there is a way to shortcut this. Why think engineers allow this craziness?
BTW, its odd
1) the shortcut called layer properties and not just Name of Layer no?
2) no right click to name/ rename layer, no?

This has plagued me since on got on board with Wacom 5 years ago. No problem with mouse, just with Wacom. Is there a new driver for this?
