My friend and I are sharing a document on Acrobat, and since the last Acrobat update we always appear as "viewing". All day, every day, even if we don't have Acrobat open. I checked, and even if I'm not logged in, I appear to her as "viewing" the document. Anyone else having this problem?
I've been keeping note these last few days since there was another update, and it doesn't seem to be doing it anymore. Thank goodness (and your updates)!
Thank you for getting back to me. It appears to be fixed.
UPDATE: I just spoke with my friend, and it appears to be fixed on my end only. For some reason, I still appear to her a viewing all of the time. Very odd.
David, I think I may have a similar related problem, where my PDF ebooks that I wrote are showing the names of graphic designers and copywriters that were hired to produce them. Some have a line "PDF producer...." or "Author....." showing other names, and whatever I am trying to do with the settings keep saying this (most settings show 'not allowed'). As this effects most of our ebooks and we have over 30, is there a way to somehow change this in viewable preferences as a bulk-clean deal? If not, I'd still appreciate to know how to do it even if have to fix the docs one by one. Also, I was suggsted to add the title, keywords, subject and the descriptions to each PDF to allow prospective clients locate the PDF online easier. Tried and failed for same reasons. Please, help. Much appreciate your feedback in advance. Dr G.
Good day Dr. G,
That information comes from a variety of sources. For instance, the Author information will be pulled from the original document in many cases. The PDFProducer simply states what mechanism was used to generate the PDF code. Theoretically, you could use the Action Wizard to execute a custom Javascript to modify things such as keywords, but there's readily availble, built-in mechanism.
Kind regards,
David

Dave,
This is Kim, I'm actually the Co-Author who shares a workspace with Thielio (who is the "Author"). I've tried using a different browser and I've tried clearing the browser cache. But for some reason it still always shows Thielio as viewing the document, whether she is or isn't. We've also added another someone else with "Reviewer" status; he also sees Thielio as always viewing.
Any other thoughts?
Hi Kim,
Is this behavior only occuring with a single document? All documents within a single workspace? Or all documents, regardless of workspace that you share with Thielio?
Also, does this behavior occur only with one browser for all users who share the workspace? Have any other browsers been tried?
Thanks,
David
Hi Kim,
I was finally able to reproduce this and provide an example to my engineering team. I believe that my colleague Bob was going to reach out to you via PM.
The issue was on our end and has to do a user's 'presence' in a form not being cleared out properly.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention and we apologize for the inconvenience.
