In Adobe Acrobat X (10.1.2) I no longer am able to "markup" files (e.g., add highlighting and notes). As an experiment, I created a PDF file from a web page. As an example, the "highlight" text icon was grayed out and could not be enabled. As shown in the image below, the file properties indicated there was NO security and ALL actions were allowed. Nonetheless, no markup could be applied. In addition, files that I had previously marked up could no longer be changed! My original highlights etc. are viewable, but cannot be added to OR deleted. Anyone with any ideas?
try67,
Apologies about the image. I thought this had been done (it shows up in the screen I am looking at). As for the your question:
Under Acrobat->Preferences Re: In Adobe Acrobat X (10.1.2) Markup no longer available, the "View documents in PDF/A mode:" is set to "Only for PDF/A documents". As an experiment, I changed this setting to "Never." I then closed and opened a file with no difference in effect. I then exited and reentered Acrobat and all appears good!
First, thank you.
Second, what happened? I was able to markup files yesterday and not today. What could happen to change this setting (and I did not do this)?
