I'm new to the Premiere Pro workflow and wondered if someone might have a solution to the following -
I have installed (and re-installed, and re-installed!) Premiere Pro CS5.5, updated it to 5.5.2, and the presets for RED R3D do not show up when I load the program. I checked the contents of the package and low and behold the .sqpreset files are all sitting where they should within the RED R3D folder. They just won't load into the program.
Does anyone know if its possible to load the .sqpreset files into the program some other way?
I don't have any of those files on my computer. There is no file structure like that for me. I know there are a handful of other people on Reduser who are having the same problem and would love a solution.
Have you run Cleaner Tool before re-installing.
I have just wiped everything Adobe off of my machine, I have ran the cleaner tool, reinstalled the programs I need, ran the premiere 5.5.2 update, reinstalled the redepicimporter and still geting the same sequence presets as above...
If you're running the trial build, the RED presets won't load, as they depend on MPEG for the preview format.
Also, if you're planning on using RED EPIC, you'll need to install the Adobe Labs version of the RED plugins:
My bad, my brain has glazed over from too many releases. You're right, they finally sorted that out for CS5.5 so that the trial would be more fully featured.
*edit* however, the problem could still be the same - if the RED presets aren't available, there's a good chance that MPEG is also somehow turned off. I'd be interested in knowing if the OP is missing MPEG related content...
We've seen a few underlying causes for this issue, which trace back to the licensing/activation system not properly unlocking these "protected" codecs. Yes, they are unlocked in the trial, but they are still treated differently in terms of how they are installed and activated.
Charlie (cgrinnell) reported elsewhere that he was able to get past this issue by using a new serial number.
