I am sometimes (sporadically) facing the problem, that I cannot connect to FMS server with FMLE, using username and password.
When I then restart FMS everything is working correct again.
A customer discribed that he was not able to reconnect to the fms, as soon as he closed the FMLE without stopping encoding process?
I am using the default authentication plug-in in FMS 3.5.6 on a 64-bit Debian.
Everything else is working correct, only reconnecting with encoding-software (like FMLE) is not working.
Is there any possibility to get the authentication working again, without restarting the whole fms process?
Did anyone have a similar problem and how did you fix it?
I am looking forward to get any advice.
Thank you for the hint, but unfortunately this does not fit to my problem.
The authentication works fine with fmle, but sometimes, it is not possible to authenticate on FMS, even when nothing was changed.
Only a restart of FMS could solve this issue then.
I am only looking for a possibility to retart only the auth-process of FMS. any possibilities or hints?
So you are saying - the problem only occurs when someone closes the FMLE without stopping the publishing i.e. like forced close. So next time when you try to connect - it just does not connect even if you provide correct credentials - did i get your problem right?
this is quite correct. One of our customers discribed that he closed the fmle and afterwards the authentication was not possible.
It is not possible to enter any credentials. Then there is the failure message that the connect to primary server is not possible;
But the FMS is working correctly, because other streams are available. Only the publishing with credentials is not possible.
I tried reproducing it from my end but just not able to do it. Each time i close my FMLE without stopping the publish - even if i kill it - next time when i open it - it prompts me for credentials and when i give correct details - it allows me to stream.
