Hello All
I want make a formal complaint re how the student/teacher editions are handled.
In short, I am in limbo land with it and there seems to be no place to go with it.
I have complied with all that have been asked and still, here I sit with no serial number,
It seems that I will not get one unless I start a class action suit. I am angry enough to
do just that.
My question is how do I get in contact with someone who can help. Not that stupid
identit-e site with their stupid email stuff that does not work.
I would like any help that can be offered.
Thanks
JC

Greetings Jerry,
Exactly what stage of the registration are you starting? I purchased a Student Edition of Dreamweaver just a few weeks ago and found the process to be very straightforward and timely. If you are having an issue with it, perhaps you should share with us exactly what you are stalled on.
On a side note, it might not be a good idea to threaten the Company who is giving you a Substantial discount on their products with a Class-Action Lawsuit.
Discounts are a privilege, not a right.
Jarrod
Thanks for your reply.
No threats from me. If there were, it would not be based on the 'giving' of anything except maybe reasonable execution of advertised action for the requested compensation.
Rest easy. I have no intention of doing anything else on this. I will not comment on this issue farther.
All I want now is to opt out of this forum and that I can manage.
Thanks to all who have read this thread and have been concerned.
Jerry Cannon
This is addressed to anyone who wants to help.
The other forum discussion on problems with Identit-e seem to be closed.
I bought the Creative Suite 5 Design Premium Teacher/Student version last year from a guy with a good sales reputation stats on EBay last year. He wrote that he's a trainer for the Navy and when he tried to register it, found out that his service to his country as a teacher-trainer didn't qualify him for the discounted version. I bought it and when I started back in school last week, I got a message from Identit-e that it was already registered.
Trying to give the seller the benefit of the doubt, I wrote Identit-e back and asked if the registration was successful or aborted because the guy found out he's not eligible. They wrote me back and said that his registration was rejected because he was ineligible. BUT, that the software has been registered and I can't register it. --Say what?!
I called them on their logic and they wrote back they won't respond anymore. Case closed.
So, being as Adobe told me the other night I have to take the issue up with Identit-e, and Identit-e doesn't seem to give a hoot that they won't let me register a software that apparently was never successfully registered because the guy TRIED to register it -- I seem to be screwed here. I don't have money to blow like this -- I'm unemployed and trying to retrain myself and get employed again by going back to community college.
I'd like to keep a high opinion of Adobe and that it does have some caring customer service in addition to great products.
WHY would they associate themselves with such a shameful, loser verification company??
Can anyone out there help me?!
Thank you.
Veronica
You obviously bought bogus software on eBay. Adobe can't be held responsible for this since you didn't purchase the product from them or one of their licensed vendors. Contact eBay, the seller and PayPal (if you paid that way) and insist on a refund.
Good luck,

That is where things went afoul. Educational licenses cannot be transferred or resold. Neither Identit-e nor Adobe has any need to deal with you because you are not a legitimate customer. Somebody took advantage of you and it was not Adobe.
You can buy legitimate educational licenses through your community college.
Thanks, Nancy. Please understand, I'm NOT holding Adobe responsible. -- Other than wondering about their partnership with that dumb, apathetic verification company that wrote me that the software had NOT been registered (because his creds as a naval instructor didn't count by them) -- but that it was already registered so I can't register it. They didn't give a hoot about the illogic of that a) this might be a perfectly legal software program that may have been legitimately purchased by a U.S. military guy who didn't know he wouldn't be able to register it, and 2) that no one had downloaded or registered yet (because he wasn't allowed to), and c) that someone with a legit student ID (me) had paid for this legit and unused software.
ANYway, the good news is that Adobe came to my rescue and I'm now the happy user of Creative Suite Design Premium! I am now Adobe's biggest fan that their customer service cared enough to help me out so I could register and download it! They rock!! -- With all of the "pass the buck" corporations out there, it's so nice to find some big companies that really do care enough to do a little digging to find out the story and leave people out to dry. --And thank you for caring enough to write. Veronica
Thanks for writing, Marian.
As I just posted, Adobe helped me out. I guess they could tell that it was legit software that had never been used. I verified my student ID and registration with them.
I'm very grateful that they cared enough to check it out -- And YES!!! I have learned my lesson now NOT to buy software on EBay, even though I thought I was helping the seller out, as well.
Thanks!
Well, I have a Student Teacher edition that the Identit-e people so far will not authorize and I have complied with all thier requests for information, Student ID, Bill, Term etc. Now they are just ignoring me. Who is it you talked with at Adobe? Perhaps they can help me get this thing approved.
Thanks
Hi Riverman,
That company really sucks don't they? They told me they wouldn't respond to any further emails from me; case closed as far as they were concerned.
Here's the email address I wrote where I got some great help at Adobe Customer Service <custserv@adobe.com>. I'm reticent to give the guys name, as hopefully there are others there would be willing to help as well. Write me back if you don't get help and need his name.
