AME Not showing Video in Preview after Lion 10.7.3 Update

Feb 3, 2012 1:41 PM

I've been using AME daily for a few months working solid and fast now ran lion 10.7.3 update and lots of weird things happening. The most consistent is the video is not able to be viewed in the preview scree, however, if you hit encode it the video encodes sometimes fine other times just black. I read somewhere thet lion 10.7.3 included lots of video specific updates but this one screwed me.  Anyone have a work around? I tried compressor and that thing kept hanging too.

Are the prefs or something I can trash?  That use to work for some issues on FCP.

Your are correct.  Apple changed something in 10.7.3 and we thought we worked with them to find all the fall out.  This one slipped through.  We will work with Apple to determine how we can address this.

    Cheers

This is really frustrating, any idea when it will be fixed? With this and FCPX, video on the mac is starting to suck!

Ahhhh, I've had a somewhat similar issue with some software analysis tools I tried to install on my Lion laptop. Apple has altered Lion so it doesn't interrelate to windows code any more (in my basic layman's terms) and this is what has upset my software. I've been looking at upgrading from Leopard to Lion for my desktop, and then on to soon to be released Mountain Lion, so a fix for this is important. In fact it is likely to affect my idecision to purchase the elearnign suite. Best of luck on a speedy resolution.

Are there any updates on when this will be fixed? Not being able to preview video in AME5.5/MacOS 10.7.3 is a serious bug. I have to go back to an earlier version of AME on a Windows machine to encode FLVs.

    Dave,

I appreciate the consitant update, but I hope it's not in the form of CS6 as the fix.  CS5.5 is a great product package all the way around.  Could you clarify this "update" we might see?

    Thanks

    Sean

I just realized that I am working with a different program.  I'm using Adobe's Flash Media Encoder 3.2.

I know that FME 3.2 doesn't show the preview.

Does AME 5.5 work with the preview?  Am I also able to stream my live events to my flash server wtih AME?

This is a known user interface bug with AME 5.5 and Mac OS 10.7.3.  It is being addressed soon.  Does not affect rendered output.  I can't speak to Flash Media Encoder.

Just found out, as of March 15, 2012, new build released fixing the no-video issue.

I re-upgraded my C2D MBP to 10.7.3, installed the latest build of ALME and I can see the video preview. Woo hoo!

    Peace.

    Chris

It's what you'll get if you download Adobe Live Media Encoder right now.

Has this been fixed? I have 10.7.3 and AME 5.5.1.12. I checked today for updates. Says I'm up to date, but I still can't see a preview in AME.

    AME 5.5.1.12 + OSX 10.7.3 = still no preview!

Shame on you Apple and/or Adobe!
