Renders tiny amount on timeline, then crashes.

I can export a two hour clip (with no audio), but when I go to render on the timeline it will render for a maximum of five minutes, then it crashes. Then I rendered it slowly this way, and now it renders for about one minute before crashing. Using a fast enough for reccomendations processer, quad core with 8 gigs ram.
