2 Overlay Creator questions (audio/video)

I have a video file placed with a controller selected. It works fine in the Content Viewer, but not on the iPad. When tapped on the iPad, the image just flashes on the point of contact but does not activate the video.

 

The other issue regards the Overlay Creator not recognizing placed audio or video files. I've placed both audio and video files (some from the Adobe tutorials from the prerelease). When selected, the Overlay Creator does not apparently register them as valid audio or video files since I can't access the OC dialog boxes.

 

Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong or possibly missing?

    In fact, it seems that I may be having trouble creating new overlays, period. The Overlay Creator opens when I access an existing Overlay, but not when I try and make new ones.

     

    The Folio Builder works fine.

    Is is possible that your videos are not in the H264 format that the iPad likes?  I've used Media Encoder to drag and drop convert my videos (they were all .flv's ) and now they're working fine.

     

    Remember that the Ipad doesn't have flash!  It got me for days.

    When your creating new overlays.. do you have an InDesign object selected first? Alot of people forget that the overlay panel shows extended options of base indesign objects.  Example you have to create a hyperlink object before you can see the hyperlink options.  Also make sure your updated to folio producer tools 1.01

    I was having the same issue, then I realized I was using .f4v files, and that's something iPad does not recognize. I used .mp3 for audio, and .mp4 for video, and that did the trick.
