Interactive PDFs from InDesign

Hi again,

 

I am hoping that someone has a good answer on an interactive pdfs issue. (forums usally helps)

 

We have a document with aprox 150pages. We've created bookmarks for each specific page and specific buttons to navigate.

 

Problem:

The interactive pdf works great but randomly the bookmarks (buttons) is bugging out (not going to the right page) even if they work when i try it out in the prewiev mode.

So i assume it works in swf aswell. Anyone had this problem aswell?

    What version of InDesign did you use to create the interactive PDF. What PDF viewer and platform are you using to view it?

    InDesign CS5 and Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.

    I have not experienced this (on shorter documents) nor do I remember it being reported. It could be that the InDesign file had some corruption. You could try this method to save an INDL file:

    Reopen in InDesign, then recreate the PDF file.

    Didn't have any problems with less pages.

     

    But tried before to export it as an idml file to "clean" the doc up.

    Guess i'll have to do it again and not copy a textbox or button from another document.

     

    The more pages I have the harder it gets to find the corrupt textbox or button.

    Will try it all over again then.

    Hi again,

     

    We got this project working.

     

    How we solved it? We started all over.

    Exported the file as the .idml took out all Bookmarks. and started all over again.

    Did the same with the buttons. So it seemed like we had textbox issue that we probably got from copying and pasting from all sorts of docs.

    Buttons and such were repeated on master pages.

     

     

    Hope if someone else gets this problem this will help em out.

    However, if you use a bookfile and export to iPDF, bookmarks and TOC etc. will only work for the first chapter/document of the book. Long outstanding bug (as is the pagenumbering fault for bookfiles!)

    Thats correct, since we had 150pages in the presentation we noticed that quite fast.
