I had a nice simple menu built up in Encore. It looked and worked fine in the preview. I decided that it would look better if I had a sentence flash on and off. In AE, I added a text preset. It looked great during the preview. I then rendered the composition. I looked at the .avi file and it ran just like I had wanted it. It was clean and crisp. So I imported the *.avi file as an asset. I then went to the Menu properties and then to the Motion tab. I then whipped in the video to the *.AVI file I just added. I rendered the Menu and then ran a Preview. Everything worked like it was suppose to, EXCEPT, the complete screen was blurry. It was like everything was out of focus. EVERYTHING. It seems like I have two menus showing, the old and new one together. I am not sure what this is. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I did not do, or did wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.

Did you turn off the eyeballs in the layer palate ? Check this out http://vimeo.com/11148340

John, I had not turned them off in AE. So, I tried that and rendered again. The new *.AVI file now has a black back ground with only my text coming on the screen as it should. I deleted the old +.AVI file and brought in the new one. Connected it up and rendered again. Still blured. Any other places I should be looking at or you suggest? I keep thinking that there is something that I am looking over that is obvious.

Thanks John. I did watch the video. I see that I was doing it incorrectly. It might explain why I am finding my Background being locked on after I set the eyeball off. This is causes both backgrounds to be displayed as being blured. I will try to re-structure this as you have in your example. I will have to work on this after I return from a Ham Radio convention this weekend. I will be back with you early next week to let you know how I am progressing. Have a nice weekend.
Thanks,

John, I am about ready to leave right now and thought I would check for messages one last time. I saw your last message. Great. My call is WB7TYT. My first call was K9QZY. Illinois. I belong to the Cactus Intertie Group and this is their annual meeting. The group is made up of many clubs thourgh out the Southwest. Basically California to east Texas. All our sites are repeater sites on Mountain tops or very high towers. My HF station is down right now, otherwise we could chat there. Got to go now. Look forward to chatting with you more after I return.

John, back from the Ham meeting. All went well. Back to this project. I had some difficulty following your link. I am using CS5.5 and you an earlier version from what I can tell. My moving text was done in AE. Did you use AE for your moving boxes? I am not to the point of moving boxes. I am just trying to add some animated text. I have that working now. But, the problem now is that it just keeps looping after the duration is met. I would like to stop that so it only runs once. I think that has to be done in AE but so far I have been unable to figure it out. Any suggestions?

Duane,
You're right, I used CS3, but it shouldn't make any difference. Actually, I put together the menu starting with photoshop and then using AE and finally Encore for 7 sort of short videos with this Vimeo album https://vimeo.com/album/214460.
What you have to do is in AE make your comp, say 20 seconds and then make you text animation run for the first 7 or 8 seconds of the comp and then have the text stop annimating there and just be stationary for the rest of the comp.
Then you use that video you made in AE for a motion background in your encore menu. You set the loop point at about 9 seconds so when the background movie loops, it skips the first part where there is animated text.
If you're not going to have one menu, that is no secondary menu such as scenes, then you don't have to worry about the second short menu I did. However, in Encore CS5.5, you don't need the short menu.
See if that works.
John
John, it worked. The total composition is about 8:15. The animation takes up about the first 4 seconds. So I set the loop point to 5 seconds. While I am at it, I just may learn how to make the buttons ( there is one menu with two buttons) fly in. It is more than my father-in-law had asked for, but what the heck. I need to learn it anyway, lol.
