I cant seem to start a new document with a transparent background, it displays a white background instead.
Simple enough solution i'm sure but I seem to be going round in circles to get an answer.
Very much a beginner.
hi and thanks for helping
I created a new document and selected a transparent background but the layer is white.
"A new document will always have a backround. Create a new layer and you can delete the background."
I have tried that but still I dont see the transparent background, i'm still left with a white background, so simple probably but I can't seem to get it.
What do you have set in the Edit - Preferences - Transparency dialog for the Grid Colors?
I ask, because you can instruct Photoshop not to put up the checkerboard pattern that's displayed by default.
