I am using and ACER ASPIRE ONE. XP Home/Student. I just did a full recovery. Because of that the system is running swimmingly and I have not added a lot of programs yet. Java is installed. Service Pack 3. I am sure the old config had up to date Adobe.
I now have, as reported by REVO UNINSTALLER ( just a 3rd party Add/Remove Programs thing)
ADOBE FLASH PLAYER 11 PLUGIN
ADOBE FLASH PLAYER ACTIVEX
ADOBE SHOCKWAVE PLAYER 11.6 installed.
A page, for instance, a broadband test page says I need to upgrade to see their graphics disply. I do, and it appears according to Revo that I have them.
MANAGE ADD-ONS ( IE8) reports Adobe Shockwave Flash Object Ver. 9.0.124.0 is there and enabled and that's it as far as Adobe programs. I'm not sure why it has not been replaced by the newer versions that Revo says is present and installed.
Other than that I have downloaded the file from several sources with slightly different names but still the same results.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jack

Exit the browser and disconnect from the internet.
Run the uninstaller and reboot.
Delete the Flash folder in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed
Run the installer.
The Flash Player plugin is not needed for Internet Explorer.

Thanks for taking the time to respond Carl. Here are the files in the folder you asked of me. They don't seem right to me but maybe they tell you what is wrong. Thanks, Jack

Thanks again Carl for taking the time with so many persons squaking like me for answers. Much appreciated. As you would have expected if I followed your directions it would work ... and it did.
Doing a full recovery is stressful enough, getting an answer like this is refreshing. G'day or G'night! Jack
