Panasonic GX1, raw-file to dng

This camera is supposedly supported in the latest release of Adobe DNG Converter.

I can't get it to work.

 

Most of the time the converter program hangs with 1 file left to convert.

If I only select a small number of files to convert it runs through all.

 

The problem is I can not view the converted dng-files.

Running Mac OS X Lion.

The files can not be viewed through preview or Aperture.

 

Has anybody been successful converting GX1-raw-files to DNG?

    Is it really hung, or does it appear to be stuck on the last image?  If you move the cursor when it's on the last image, does it finish?

     

    If you uncheck the "Fast Load Data" option, are the resulting DNG images readable in the other software?

    Thanks for answering.

    Moving the cursor doesn't complete the process unfortunately.

    As for the "Fast load data" option, seems it's missing from my version of DNG Converter (6.6.0.261)

     

    I've tried the different versions for compability, also linear and uncompressed.

    Which compatibility versions did you try?  For example, 4.6?

    I've tried 2.4, 4.1, 4.6, and 5.4.

    Custom settings didn't work either. Linear on or off.

    It is possible that the OS simply doesn't support this camera model yet.

    I'm sorry, I may be confused to how the DNG-converter works.

    I thought I could take a raw-file, which is supported by DNG-converter, and create a DNG-file which is readable by the os or any program that handles DNG.

     

    Does the os still have to support the raw-file from the camera to read the finished DNG-file?

    You understood correctly about how the DNG conversion works.

     

    However, not all software reads all DNG.

     

    For example, sometimes a software still internally checks whether it supports a given camera model and may refuse to process unrecognized models.

     

    I will do some of my own testing later with these images and let you know what I find.

    Found a rc of DNG Converter 6.7.0.319 beta, still no luck.

    So I tried an old Nikon D80 raw file, Camera Raw 6.6 compability, which worked just fine.
