Hi...
Trying to install Flash 11 to Chrome from this link:
I unpack the tarball and get only the libflashplayer.so and a usr/ folder. No instructions. The Adobe site says run an install script, but there isn't any. How do I install it manually or is there a download that will work as advertised.

Hi,
I'm not a Linux user, so I could be mistaken, but I believe Flash Player is integrated in the Linux build (like it is with Mac and Win.) See this Google help doc:

Hi Chris,
I was thinking of sending you a PM earlier, but I may as well ask you here in this related topic.
I was using Parted Magic / GParted over this weekend to recover an external HD, and that recovery took a very long time. So while I was waiting, I used Firefox to do some things, and at one stage tried to install Flash Player for Linux.
I failed miserably! There are no clear instructions anywhere on the web for Linux newbies how to get Flash Player successfully installed.
Could you have one of your Linux specialists write a FAQ entry with details how to install FP on Linux?

Hi...
I might have a go at updating Chrome then and see what happens. I was using Chrome as an example, as I still have to get Firefox updated too. The lack of instructions on the tarball are still a problem. Ho hum.

Ok, so found a couple of things. First, the lack of readme in the tarbar was a bug and will be addressed in the next release of the player. Second, we have this readme mirrored on this page:
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/release-note/readme-flash-player-linux.html
Hope this helps,
Chris
