Why can't I respond to my own question?

O.k. I'm getting sick and tired of this.  I asked a question about Reader X and still haven't been able to solve it.  When I go to respond to what someone suggests I have no way of actually replying.  I get the error of Done, but with errors down in the left hand corner of the screen.  I was once granted the courtesy of actually responding, but I have no idea how I did that!  But alas, no more.
