Hi!
I developed an document archive for my company with ColdFusion 8 (Win2008R2 Server, IIS7) and Oracle 11gR2 Database (Linux) - we will upgrade to CF9 this year.
The Documents are stored in a Oracle Database in binary files (as usual). Without encryption.
Saving and reading the documents is no problem at all, but now I got a question if it is possible to edit documents like .xls(x) or .doc(x) without down- and uploading.
I tried to solve this with WebDAV on our IIS7 - but it seems that it is not working with the latest IIS. I installed the Windows Authentication (and of course WebDav on the site) and we got a login which worked to read - but we cannot save the documents to the WebDav Directory. That might be a problem with the IIS7. In IIS6 saving Documents worked fine for a test.
In the Windows-Registry I set the Reg-Entry "OpenDocumentsReadWriteWhileBrowsing" (1) at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\Internet (Office 2007) - the main condition to edit Office Documents with WebDAV.
So if anyone solved this - please let me know how you fixed it.
Thanks!
